Executive Director and Founder of OIKOS 4:45 Ministry

After serving a 20 year prison sentence, God found it in his plans to call me to be a community leader, pastor and role model for those who have been cast away and given up on. I'm a "typical" Mexican-Cuban-American that was born and raised in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. In 2014 I married my beautiful wife Betty who is just as passionate about serving the Lord as I am.. When we are not out doing ministry, you might find me binging on Netflix shows or following my local L.A. teams. Given the opportunity, I look forward to putting together another classic VW bug as the 1962 I had as a kid. If you see me out there on the streets rolling in my VW or serving the community, feel free to say hello!

john bullock: treasurer

John formally came to Christ almost 30 years ago, when going through a very difficult divorce and came to appreciate Christ's abiding love and Grace.  For over 30 years John has served as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Sherman Oaks and at Kirk O'the Valley Presbyterian Church in Reseda.  John has held the position of President, Vice President and Treasurer in those churches as well as chairing Administration, Finance and School Committee Chairs and has frequently served as an a usher for Sunday Services.  In the last 3 years John has also felt called to serve the latino community, which has been underserved by the Presbyterian Church and has served on the Nominating Committee, Committee on Preparation for Ministry and the Committee for Polity and Records.  Both he and his wife Julie are actively engaged in Mission Ministry and appreciate the opportunity to serve the community as Christ did.

Two years ago, John felt called by God to more actively follow Christ path in serving those without homes living on the street as well as those in temporary Housing LA city housing.  John has also been active in supporting the food collection initiative at North Valley Caring Services on occasion collecting food as well as distributing that food on Friday mornings.  In John's ministry to those currently living on the street, he brings the message of Christ's abiding love and ministers to those that are facing drug, alcohol and the issues of life.  John considers it a blessing to serve in this ministry .

miriam gutierrez: secretary

Miriam has joined OIKOS 4:45 since 2018.  She has been involved for many years in non profit organizations.  At her church, she has been a deacon, church clerk and christian education team.  She also started and held positions in the PTA, PTSA and school site council at her kid's schools.  She is excited to help the ministry grow and to see where God leads us to.

The love of Christ is not bound by one's status in life, but rather by those who are willing to let Him into their hearts.
